Indians For Guns

Well , many times we see there are very valuable new comers to the forum and we hardly greet them. Being hard core gun right activist some tongues are sore but not every yells at newbies. So would some MOD's come up with some *one nice at heart* to greet and welcome. As old English saying first impression is last impression - Haji

Great idea, I agree and from my part I nominate Haji & Naga as official greeters/ leaders of the welcome wagon... anyone second the motion?

i do not know who haji is but if it is sir hammer and nagarifle, i second your nominations.

This is a good idea. I think we all need to be better at greeting new members and I'm guilty of not attending to this properly.

The one think about having designated people doing it is that it can get tiring, as there are times when we get a lot of new members at once. Also, I think it is also nice that here, people just greet newcomers because they want to. We have a good group here, and when it comes from desire, rather than duty, I wonder if people realize that?

The freedom of choice that you are talking about is indeed important , however an 'official' acknowledgement and welcome is in fact a great idea! especially if one looks at it from the noob's point of view. The way I picture it - a noob walks in through these giant doors(suitably engraved with scrollwork and gilding, of course) marked IFG, shivering with cold and fear- the world outside can be rather cruel, as I am sure you will agree, and as one enters there are two of our finest members- one on either side(dressed in club colors, no less! I am thinking -green and gold), one with a giant mug of hot chocolate and the other with a soft warm blanket-who welcome him/her with smiles and hugs. After stuffing his/her gob with assorted sweatmeats and wrapping him/her up against the cold, they, of course, let nature take its course. And that's where the freedom of choice comes in!It makes one feel rather mushy...but we can blame that on the weather!

I think this is a good idea Abhijeet.Haji and Naga.good luck and congratulation for both of you guy's on your new job.

Seriously, what a brilliant idea! To welcome new members in a more organized manner, have 'designated greeters'

With their collection of projectile and edged weapons, who'll negotiate "remunerations" with Haji & Naga? Imagine a chap coming for his interview with a 155 mm howitzer!!!
