I hadn't heard of Indigenous horse shows around Delhi so those of you who are interested might find this useful.Can't comment on the quality of the event but will post my experience and pictures if I decide to go.

Equiwings Sports is organising its first Horse Show in Rural India with vXplor Adventures (P) Ltd. The vXplor Horse Show is being organised in Narainpur Village at vXplor Adventure Park, 10 Kms drive from Taj Expressway enroute to Aligarh. The show is scheduled from 24 - 25 November 2012.

The Horse Show being the first in the season is being organised to popularise Equestrian Sports in Rural Parts of India and hence a lot of village horses and riders have also been invited to demonstrate their skills and talents in the various competitions.

The Show has various children events, and hence all schools of Delhi/NCR and nearby cities have also been invited.

Pushkar horse fair in Rajasthan on the dry river basin is the renown fair in India showing and selling all sorts of livestock . Another grand fair is Mukhtsar ,Punjab. thing are more of a punjabi taste here. both are indeed great places to be even if you are not buying anything. other less renown fairs are organised all over India.
