A man carried out a durability test on the new iPad by shooting at it, a media report said.
The video of the Apple gadget being destroyed has become an online hit.

It shows Richard Ryan using different guns, including an assault rifle, on a range to shoot at the new iPad.

"It didn't do as much as I'd hoped to it," said Ryan after the first test.

He then switched over to a higher powered gun that blew up a large hole through the centre of the Apple gadget.

It's not just an iPad that Ryan has tested. He has shot at an iPhone, Xbox 360, iPad 2 and other gadgets.

Another test that Ryan carries out is called "will it blend" in which the latest gadgets are placed in a blender to see if they survive.

The test was not taken kindly by one online user who lamented: "Why would you ruin a good ipad. I've wanted one for ever and couldn't afford one."

Another, however, described it as "awesome".

Talking about the "Will it blend" test, has anyone seen the video of when they tried doing it with one of those ultra-rugged Sonim cellphone's?

As a gun lover I loved it,the HK53 was very very beautiful.

Does it make any sense to shoot gadgets?? Its a psycho's behaviour... Next he might set his house on fire to test the durability of the house itself. I bet he has never ran those tests on a Nokia 1110.

oh seriously ? well apple might get an idea and start manufacturing bulletproof vests and name it as "iVest" and their slogan would be "invest in iVest"

So what, I can destroy an I pad with my airgun! Or my Woodland boots, or my bare hands!!!

To reiterate what "one user" said - don't shoot the damn thing, donate it to me !! Useless expenditure by a over-rich* joker! The whole world and its brother-in-law knows that I-pads , I-phones, Nikon 3000 D cameras, and what-have-you are not bullet-proof. Panasonic Toughbooks (used by US Army, and arms salesmen in Rwanda, amongst others) are claimed to be bullet proof. Has this clown tried that?

(*over-rich - has too much money for his own and the world's good! )

Anyway, if the whole world were smart, who would provide the laughs!!
