What a waste of tax payers money

Post by fantumfan2003 » Fri Jan 27, 2012 10:13 pm

As an example of overcoming adversity, Karoly Takacs has few peers. He was part of Hungary’s world champion pistol-shooting team in 1938, when an army grenade exploded, crippling his right hand. Ten years later, having taught himself to shoot with his left, he won two gold medals in the rapid-fire class.

Can't see any reasons why these 'groups' would be a waste of tax payers' money. They are a necessity and tackle diverse needs and roles.

The only waste of our hard earned money is the ridiculous sums we(civilians) pay for the IOF's products compared to the prices mentioned in the article for weapons procured for arming these groups.

Heck, I would gladly pay 1.5 lacs for that FN rifle, compared to the 1.15lacs I paid for my IOF .30-06!

For Delhi SWAT team, somebody needs to tell them that SWAT stands for Special Weapons and Tactics... having the primary and secondary weapon of the same caliber (9 mm) is not exactly a wise tactic.

And now, big brother is watching too. I think this is a good move for an event such as this:

Hi Katana thanks we are also gearing up to the level of internation standard to combat terrorism. Why can't we give a salute to the babus who are accustomed to our citisim?. Hats Off for the vision.

The reason why we can not do that is because only the SPG the guys who protect the VIPs are well equipped and in a sensible way and the rest of the guys who are supposed to be protecting the common man are just equipped...
For example the Delhi SWAT their primary and secondary weapon are both 9 mm and a Type III-A armor will be able to protect a person from 9 mm weapons and Type III-A bulletproof vests are not bulky and are quite comfortable and would cost around $400... And if a person is wearing the type III-A vest and puts a loose t-shirt over it, you will not be able to make out that he is wearing body armor.

Here is scenario: A Mumbai terrorist attack and the terrorist are wearing type III-A armor, Delhi SWAT goes to tackle them.. they move in and see a terrorist and double tap him on the chest with MP5, he goes down and the SWAT moves past the guy taking him to be dead, but he is not, he gets up and puts one at the back of the neck of the SWAT guy...

the SWAT and NSG should not be given sub machine guns like MP5, but they should be given PDWs.
