I have my reservations on posting but still I take a shot .

Your post is disturbing if not offensive .

I'm a person and want every person to be able to Keep and Bear Arms . I want every person on this planet to be able to defend his/her life and the life of their love ones .

You can add all sort of knifes and swords of your choice if you doing business along with guns if permissible.

My business is to stand up and speak up for every person from the sea to end of the waters and I never made a penny out of this - Haji

Why is the post so disturbing or border line offensive? Do you take offense at all knife makers? Please explain. Mod

You basically need to check with local authorities as to how Section 4 of the Arms Act applies to your area. Also, find attached a copy of letter from the office of D.M. (Arms Branch) Delhi clarifying that exporters of sharp edged weapons do not require any license as per Ministry of External Affairs letter No. Q(T.G.)/889/6/68 dated 10-03-69 and Ministry of Home Affairs Notification No. 11/13/68-P-IV dated 02-10-68.

You can obtain a similar letter along with copies of the Min. of External Affairs letter and Min. of Home Affairs notifications listed above from your local licensing authority by filing an R.T.I.

there is no religious card being used haji, he expressed his wish to be in the trade and casually mentioned he is a sikh... if expressing himself as a sikh is playing a religious card then i think your name is more communal than anyone of us ..you mention yourself as HAJI ! the indian govt may be soft towards minority rights and concerns but here on IFG in all these years i have never seen such favoritism, everyone is the same.

Well , the OP posted is to get the info regarding knives business or any sharp tools or say kirpans or GUNS . Why I or any one else needs to know WHO is behind the question. The law is same , the hoops are the same , resistance is same , people are same , objections to any gun related are the same . We have enough segregation already and our baggage is quite big and heavy already , so why dividing into more factions. - Haji

yea i understand your point, but please make a note that sikhs as a community purchase ceremonial kirpans and swords since they are part of the worship, so his point was in the sense since he was a sikh he wanted to deal specially in that stream. None of us here including you come here as sikhs , hindus, muslims , or christians. You rightly say that religious identity has nothing to do with our interest.

mundaire has rightly pointed out that you can begin by doing RTI. You can do RTI with Commissioner of Police, Mumbai to know if any notifications issued by Central or State government under Section 4 of Arms Act 1959 are in force in your area. If yes then provide you with copy of the same.

For better understanding please read Section 4 of Arms Act 1959 and Rule 19 of Arms Rules 1962. Arms Rules 1962 have been created to implement Arms Act 1959. Rule 19 of Arms Rules 1962 clearly states the following:

"Unless the Central or State Government by notification in the Official Gazette so directs, no license shall be required for the manufacturer, sale, possession for sale or test, of arms of category V except in the areas notified under Sec. 4."
