In a tragic incident a man severely injured and eventually died in an encounter with a chain snatcher, running away with his wife's chain.
According to the police,Mr. Madan Mohan Banarjee(45),rourkela,got killed when trying to catch the goon who snached a 12 gram chain from his wife.He was severly wounded by the snatcher with a sharp knife.
Mr. Banarjee was unarmed and helpless,so it was easy for the snatcher to severely injure him.The pathetic thing is,the police hasnt caught the murderer.......Hence we support RKBA so that we can avoid these things.

I hope the culprit gets caught and punished. At the same time,a question that strikes me is,was 12gm's of gold worth it?

I beg to differ sir! what really matters here is not the worth of what has been snatched but the fact that when some nasty goon takes away from you what's righteously yours, you must fight back and claim your earnings and that's when the RKBA comes-in. Moreover, i am not sure if the guy would have pursued the crook had he known that he will get killed in the attempt.winnie_the_pooh wrote:I hope the culprit gets caught and punished. At the same time,a question that strikes me is,was 12gm's of gold worth it?

If you shoot some one after the fellow has taken your wallet which you know contains Rs.10,would you call that a justifiable use of force? The first concern should be the safety of those whom you love and then of your own. When that is not the case,I see no need for heroics.Material things can be bought again but not your life. When you confront a criminal intent upon escape,he will certainly retaliate.
He has basically lost his life over something worth about Rs.35,000/-.As far as RKBA is concerned,in India a vast majority of gun owners, after having spent a fortune on procuring their hand guns, keep them locked up.After all, when you buy a minty S&W .32 revolver for 4-5 lakhs, you do not want the value to come down due to the bluing wearing off which is natural when you carry it.

I am sure he did not think at all but acted instinctively.ak27 wrote:Moreover, i am not sure if the guy would have pursued the crook had he known that he will get killed in the attempt.

So, RKBA+Justifiable Gun Prices+'Kill or be Killed' Situation: only this could soundly spur a person to pull the trigger out on the street. Thanks for bringing out the other side of the coin winnie!!

12 grams of gold is too precious for most of the people here in India. But certainly doesnt worth a life......
We can see that RKBA is being taken away from us in one way or the other. The government doesnt give the arm license easily, but when you manage to get a license after much hassle, the Govt.will make the weapons so costly that even a millionaire would hasitate to carry regularly(like winnie suggests)..
