dear abhijeet,
my foremost hobby and interest is firearms.
as you all know we don't have enough knowledge and access to arms and accessories in india.
the buy/sell postings where very useful in aquiring knowledge of accessories for a firearm and also to own.me live in a most backward district in tamilnadu and i got, THEE best things through ifg buy/sell.
i humbly request Mr.Abhijeet and the mods to relax a bit and let the buy/sell post function as it was.
nowadays we don't see much of sale.
i hope you consider this reguest and let buy/sell function as it did earlier.
regards

It also gives a good knowledge and info to the amateurs. What i can suggest is to make mandatory the price and pics display and all the info regarding the product on sale on every post and if the products are absurdly priced the moderators (only the moderators) can give an alert reply of the relevant price one should buy the product. So that the so called seller be aware of not doin any malpractice in the forum.
My two cents.

I am getting the general drift - and have noticed too, that there has been very little action on the 'BUY - SELL' area since the new rules have been put into place.
Abhijeet-Mods - you may want to reconsider and re-evaluate the terms in order to rejuvenate the action. To be honest, I haven't personally done any serious buying or selling on the forum. I must admit though, that I have followed the threads avidly out of sheer interest...and gathered quite a bit of information/knowledge, not to mention - been exposed to some exciting conversations/transactions!?

As I have said this before and am saying it again, our hobby or pastime if you may call it is a very equipment oriented one. Unfortunately here in India we do not have such shops of stores that can fuel this interest. Earlier magazines were a great 'glue' to get like minded fellows on to the same platform and inevitably the classifieds contributed to many a good deal and friends were made for life in that process. Today the online forums do pretty much the same thing but in a more interactive manner.
My suggestions to the respected moderators would be to have two sections to the buy and sell. One for dealers and the other for individuals who have two or more of the same product and would like to pass on the extras. The buy section may remain as one.
That's my two bit as a regular buyer and seller on this forum.

With the help of IFG buy n sell section I have bought accessories like moulded holster, revolver speedloader, dehumidifier, converters for shotgun and many such accessories. To buy them, without IFG, would have only been a dream. I humbly request Mr.Abhijeet and the mods to relax a bit and let the buy/sell post function as it was.
Also thanks to dr.jayakumar for starting this thread.

I don't understand what is the problem
Buy and sell section is still there, if somebody can't even apply for permision and follow some rules then I don't think he should be allowed to sell or buy anything here.
There are stuff for sale currently in buy/sell forum from people who just did some effort and got permission. I mean how tough is that to write a email. I think that is the reason why gun owners in this country are in soup, just becasue no body want to do some effort
I am with the status quo.

majority of us don't need anything to buy or sell but to see new things is a privilege. i think it should be continued as it was earlier.rest lies with the moderators. its their domain.cant plead much

From what I understand the idea of putting up "restrictions" was also to curb the tendency of unreasonable prices, along with keeping a tab on dishonest transactions. Applying for permission is a one time activity, and does not take a lot of effort. I think both objectives are being met, given the drastic reduction in the ads posted in the "for sale" section. Maybe the mods will think of loosening the rules, but its purely upto them to decide.
