After a lot of deliberation, and thinking, and reading on cpf, I finally decided to try my hand at a HDS EDC flashlight. I was skeptical since these run CR123/RCR batteries, which are costly in India. But this is the only light that has pages and pages, and pages written about on cpf, so I thought there must be something special about it. This page on HDS Systems site that describes the internal design, and the build.
So I finally ordered the HDS EDC 120T (max output 120 lumens, t = tactical, raised tailcap, there is a Executive version, with flushed tailcap as well) from GoingGear for $99 (plus shipping), and I have it now for about a week or so. And I am impressed, SUPER IMPRESSED. This light does live upto its expectations of being a bullet-proof and solidly built light. It has decent heft, and is the most customizable light I've seen. The manual is also very comprehensive, with nothing left to imagination - almost everything that a user may encounter is detailed, with practical tips to increase battery life as well. Here are some shots for your enjoyment.
