Hi Jonah
I have been in a situation like this during the first Gulf War 1990
Was in Israel for 2 yrs after that, been shot at and molotov cocktailed too, one of the only indians to have done that.
Things have changed very very much after that, in terms of technology and stuff.
If you remember there was no other coverage other than CNN thro Star World and nobody had any dish antennas then, we had to go to a 5 Star hotel and grab news from there.
Those were the days.
What these guys have today is state of the art.
Thanks for bringing it up, brings back many memories

Fascinating pictures,Jonah. Almost all the arms are taken from the government stores/forces.The dedication and keenness on the rebels' faces,I find it admirable. One can dispute the politics, but it does take something special to fight that way against a well equipped and trained army.
But, sitting in a pickup truck mounted with racket launchers at full fire? No,thanks. Not for me.
Best-
Vikram

The photos churned my stomach, and makes me detest war. Unfortunately, some things cannot be avoided. Reminds me of the DIY weapons our freedom fighters used against the British.
