PM's sitting in Outbox

Some of my PM's are still sitting in my Outbox. Before they would just show up in the sent folder. Can someone suggest how I can fix it?

They usually stay in the outbox till the addressee picks them up. If the person who the PM is addressed to has not been online since the PM was posted, it will continue to show in the outbox.
At least that is the way it works on my PC.
