Respect.
even the taliban must have been foxed!
they must not have been expecting a gorkha to pop up, of all the places , in helmand, in the HM's Army.
they should keep clear of the gorkha battalion now.
once bitten twice shy.

nagarifle, make it - more like a Jug or Three! Considering..........
Britain's Major General Nicholas Carter, who was commander of allied forces in southern Afghanistan during Pun's deployment, praised his efforts. "The CGC does not get handed out lightly. It was a most remarkable achievement," he said.
Bravo!

Three rules to live by:
Don't piss into the wind.
Let the Wookie win.
Don't mess with the Gurkha.

Adjutant asks newly recruited gorkha
son, you are alone on a post with a battalion of chinese coming up at you from the north, what do you do?
gorkha: Sir, i will shoot them all down.
Adjutant: ok, you now have a battalion of chinese coming up at your post from the east, what do you do?
gorkha: sir, i will shoot them all down.
Adjutant: okay! now you got a battalion coming from the west, what do you do?
gorkha: sir, i will shoot them all down!
Adjutant: Son, just where the hell are you getting so many bullets from?
gorkha: same place where you are getting so many chinese from!

One of my many experiences wid the brave and unshakable gurkhas in my dads unit - One fine morning training for LMG was being imparted by one of the Nco's in an open ground, he suddenly realized that a fellow Gurkha was sleeping and shouted " Eh Gurkha Saala Soota hai" Hey gurkha ur sleeping? to which the gurkha replied " Nahi saab ji Ankh soota hai" No sir my eye sleeps. Later on it was understood that he was tryin to convey that his eyes were small and hence gave the impression that one was sleeping. " Saab Ankh choota hai." The whole unit had a mighty laugh on this whole instance. Since my dad was in d Army I made friends wid many Gurkha officers and jawans.

As said by field marshal Sam bahadur manekshaw of GR "If a man says he is not afraid of dying, either he is lying, or he is a Gorkha!!"
And as Hitler said "If I was having 2 regiments of Gorkha rifles I would have captured the whole world"
After attending the army attachment camp with 5/3 GR.
Love their khukris
And their hats
A Gorkha in a ceremonial uniform is the smartest human being on the planet!
and it is GR that let's us sleep at night with no fear!
God bless them!
