Shooting Range

Ladies and Gentlemen,
I am a fairly new member here so forgive my impudence for stating my views below.
The guys here are quite a good bunch of people.
Katana with whom i had some transactions is a gentleman, likewise for Mundaire, NagaRifle, Jonahpach, Sniper, ElJefe, Mack The Knife, Shooter, Dr. Prashant Singh not to mention a lot others whom i have read and observed their interactions here.
Why dont all of you; all of us get together and take care of things.
We are already doing NAGRI. And sometime in the near future it will become a reality, for reasons we all feel at heart.
There are 5000 plus members here, i am sure if we can buy knives and guns and go hunting outside or indulge in the shooting sports we can contribute something to the IFG/NAGRI/ A new outfit to get a range started.
Collect the money and start a publicity campaign, IFG/NAGRI memorablia can be sourced, order g smith or whoever it is that is good to make good pellets for IFG, sell those, you give me a quality product which means that i dont have to import this through friends and i will buy it. The knives for another! Tee shirts, caps, badges, tie pins, bumper stickers, i could go on and on.
Form not a company or an NGO but a co operative and get the land on a lease if required.
This looks daunting, but here in India i am sure this bunch of 5500 members can pull this off.
The whole is greater than the sum of the individual parts!!!!
Ofcourse i dont mean to hijack the name or brand value of this forum/name. Its only a suggestion to you elders to think about this. I am too small and too inexperienced a person to lead or do this. Maybe its been thought of before, maybe not, lets all find out.
Yaar, we are indians, when the way is blocked we always go around it, lets this time go through it and not be reliant on anyone else.
Licenses, guns, pistols, ranges, equipment, everything can be arranged for. we just need to be serious and get this thing going.
I am already spreading the word in my company and the response is encouraging.
My father is a special forces guy, he always taught me to think WHY NOT!!!
So go ahead and lets have some why we cant do it and some why nots and lets give this thing a kicking chance!!!!!
Regards,
Arjun

Good Idea Arjun.. As a start, I would want the shooting range to be in Mizoram ... That's where the problem begins when a world wide forum thinks of doing something concrete.. Nevertheless, It is definitely a challenge and in good spirit.

:agree: why restrict it to one place?
why not have one in each zone?
how expensive is land there?
we stop ourselves from thinking big, no one else.

If farmers in gujarat could get together and form amul which knocked the socks off everyone.
why cant we do something like this which is on a far smaller scale?

I see, far smaller scale, but all India.

BTW, are you planning to go to Japaloupee to support Fantaumfan's well organised IFG FT meet?

that is brilliant idea indeed, not necessary such co operative must do things related knives or shotting equipment at least initially. later sure why not, but for beginning it can start from what already established business trend and bringing good money. for example why not to talk to small scale farmers and convince them to cultivate castor seeds. India producing 60% of world castor seeds. demand is growing and prices for fatty acids derived from castor oil rising rapidly - 100% up in last 6 months. So, it is very profitable crop to cultivate. Later seeds can collected in different places and sold via Mumbai commodity exchange.

Can't say much about getting the land etc., but we had started a Sunday shooting club of sorts - meeting at the Siri Fort Shooting Range in South Delhi. Starting on a high note, it has seemingly ebbed away into oblivion... :? Time kills the passion, so it appears !!

Olly,
i am a new member here, so congrats on becoming a renowned shot.
secondly, i bet your kids gonna outshoot the pants off you and i hope the day comes soon.
i am sure you already are a proud father.
I got your reference from a fellow member about getting guncases made in both hard and soft variants.
any idea as to where it can be done in delhi?
also now as a renowned shot, you can import weapons only in the category in which you became a renowned shot right?
best regards,
arjun

i want to get them made to my specifications, hence wanted to know if any leather worker could do the same for me.
cheers,
arjun
