Prima facie it does not appear to be a stage managed encounter as two police officers are reportedly injured and admitted in ICU. But taking the accused early in morning at 5:30 am to the murder spot as part of the investigation is a question mark. Anyways whatever is the truth behind this particular encounter, such people committing heinous crimes are better dead than roaming free and alive.

so, he took revolver from one of the policeman and shot two another. something seriously wrong with the whole operational doctrine of Indian police.
In another case, person who killed, over the course of time, about 100 foreign tourists in Kullu valley, such amount of passports were recovered from him as a prove, run away after been brought for questioning to police station.
By the way, carry of revolver on left side is not best option.

Most service revolvers like S&W and Webleys has no separate safety feature like IOF .32 revolver. Pull the trigger & BANG !

The entire legal system exists not to punish the guilty, but to ensure that the innocent are protected through a fair trial etc. Else we should just burn the law books, shut the courts and go back to having lynch mobs.
Egging on & encouraging policemen to take the law into their own hands by condoning such extra judicial killings - thereby allowing them to become judge, jury & executioner is a sure-fire recipe for disaster... won't be long before these same cops are trampling over the civil rights of ordinary citizens, how smug will we be then?

that is very good point, if such things may happen, the whole system will degrade to dictatorship.
on another hand question is if judiciary system effective or working at all. Rascals should get what they deserve, and if judiciary may take 30 years to punish rapist and killer, that is very tempting to take justice in your own hands.
another logical question what is better - lawful dictatorship or such unlawful and corrupt system which we do have now. who can better deliver justice to citizens and maintain law and order better.
I have a felling that 1971 dismantling of Maharajahs was quite a mistake in recent history of India, especially after reading in news how children been kidnapped and killed.

I say Lawful dictatorship but only if the enforcer is Judge Dredd. I dread thinking about it should it be in the hands of some one else.

In 1971, the constitution of India was amended. The Maharaja and other princes were deprived of their "Privy purses", the government annuities that had been guaranteed to them both in the constitution and in the covenants of merger whereby their states were merged with India. The same act also deprived them of other privileges, such as diplomatic immunity.

No, no, I know all about Gaj Singh and the abolition of titles etc. What I meant was please elaborate why this abolition was a mistake in the recent history of India.

it most probably is a fake encounter..snatching guns from cops, firing into a group of cops, getting killed in retaliatory fire,,classic movie stuff..i dont think any body would be that stupid to think that they can fire on a group of well armed cops and escape, specially when the person is surrounded by them..having said that,,JUSTICE DELAYED IS JUSTICE DENIED..not to say that i support extra judicial killings, but in this case..good thing he has met his maker..
