Lest I become insensitive and indifferent to the incident.

I really feel sorry for the law enforcement personnel who died in the ambush, who have been cynically, dubbed "broiler murga" by the adversary.

Sorry because the CRPF are not raised, trained, equipped and motivated to engage in COIN and Jungle Warfare.

RIP all of them, hope you will find peace in death which was denied to you when you lived.

M.

:agree:

I am afraid to say, more such stories will follow till the time honourable PC decides, it's enough. I wonder how much more blood would be required!!!

I concur . . . the indifference of the government is appalling . . . they dont want to use the people who can deal with it ( cos its against the constitution to use soilders against our own people ) . . . . they use those who arent trained . .

this situation stinks .

May the souls rest in peace.

An area of concern -- we always fail to react in such a situation and just end up giving a "param veer chakra" after they die in the field.

Hi,
The present MHA is lead by a minister who believes in cosmetic changes rather bold steps. The position deteriorated due to apathy of the administration all these years. Military is not solution as their is no target and no army has suceeded in crushing such uprisings.

The solution lies in managing the solution socially and not militarily. the tribal are & were exploited all these years and are heard now only becoz they took arms.

Cheers,
Biren

That is never an excuse to take up arms. By that logic, what the terrorists are doing in J&K, is also correct!!!

I agree that the tribal were not given their due, but I don't see cases where the administration or the common man have butchered tribal wantonly, for no reason.

And by your words, if the administration is taking note and trying to do something about it, why are the naxals killing more. The naxals have made a point, they don't need to hammer it down repeatedly. They forget that any administration, or common man for that matter has a saturation point. You promote violence, you get violence in return.

Still our Honorable minister, say, centre can't do anything, it's the state policy, which need to be looked again......and no use of the forces......Pls inform the minister, before u wake up, nothing will be left to be looked upon............

why not use our airforces, and whipe them out....I have full confidence, faith in our forces, but not the minister....they can just sit for a press confrence....

After construction of a building even after 40 yrs, something goes wrong, the builder is put behind bars....then, why not arrest our Honorable minister....

We tend to react to things emotionally, that is the problem. I think we all agree that corruption is rampart in government and the loot and plunder of national resources is being done systematically. The Maoist problem is also a very deep rooted socio-economic problem with no simple military style solutions. Moreover we have to acknowledge that India does not have limitless armed forces that can be deployed anywhere and everywhere in the country at the same time. They are already stretched to the limits in J&K and North East, they also need to be kept in reserve for Pakistani and Chinese border. The borders also cannot be left unguarded. What is needed is good and humble governance and justice. Believe me, if the government can set its own house in proper order, Maoists etc. will not find any supporters, this movement will die a natural death.

Punjab pattern of eradicating terrorism should be followed . That is the only way to clear this menace of naxalism . Today Punjab is a land of peace and prosperity.

what naxals do is due to what happend to them, and nobody listened to them :deadhorse:
and now when they raised arms they r again being suppressed.
but they kill innocents (here crpf) instead of removing root of thier problems (politics, government)
i dont think they will go anywhere up by adopting current methods

Really dont understand the basic's of this Minister.......
on one hand gift a kashmiri girl with a AK-47, who fought illigal intruders entring her primises to kill her, on the other hand, wants its law abiding citizen, not to process license's...enven if they deserve it......
for there own ministers demands P.Bores & to citizens not even N.P.Bores.......Now Naxels.....

Actually, God Bless us All......

One cannot have the same medicine for all problems. There are fundamental differences between the Punjab problem and Maoists problem, hence cannot be compared.
a) In Punjab insurgents were not able to build a mass base among people, negligible vote-bank was at stake, whereas Maoists have build a large mass base and a very large vote-bank spanning across various states is at stake, hence politicians are behaving in a spineless manner.
b) In Punjab insurgents were never able to build a mass base among people and intelligence agencies were able to take help from people to penetrate their network. Like it or not the Maoists have been able to build a mass base and their intelligence network spies on the government agencies.
c) Punjab is a very small and border state, hence armed forces in very large numbers are always stationed in and around Punjab. Hence it is very quick, easy to deploy them and saturate the state with armed forces without causing any logistical or security problems for the nation. Whereas Maoists are spread over a large area, spread over various states and also very far away from border(areas where armed forces are stationed). Armed forces are already stretched to the limits in J&K and North East, they also need to be kept in reserve for Pakistani and Chinese border. The borders also cannot be left unguarded hence not so easy to move them away from border and deploy them in Maoist affected areas.
d) Punjab's terrain is simply not favorable for insurgency since it is composed of flat plains, where there is no place for insurgents to hide like mountains and jungles. Maoists are conducting insurgency from a terrain that is extremely favorable for them i.e mountains and jungles.
e) Insurgents in Punjab were fully dependent on supplies of arms/ammunition/training/money etc. from Pakistan. When Benazir Bhutto government came to power, it decided to stop all support to Punjab insurgents and instead concentrate on helping Kashmiri insurgents. Moreover border was completely fenced. Whereas Maoists are not fully dependent on external help only. They are sourcing arms/ammunition from every possible source, even from within the country(from government factories and police etc.). They have also setup arms/ammunition "factories" within the country. They are also collecting "taxes" and by some estimates their annual budget is more than Rs 1500 crores.
