SS,
That is very nice!
Saphire Blue and Crystal white!
I'd be willing to bet that it is way more reliable than the classic old Bonneville.
Not for nothing was Lucas Electronics called the "Prince of Darkness"
Also fuel injection is loads better than carburettion.
How on earth did I miss these photosckkalyan wrote:I found some grand oldies of me and motorcycles from the 80's thought I would share them![]()

SS, I was lucky that I didn't lose a leg. The left leg still pains after 30 years.@TC, dont let that one fall discourage you!
A friend of mine has a 1970's Bonny. He grew up in Australia and felt nostalgic when he first saw it for sale.SS wrote:XL,
Saphire blue and crystal white it is!. Ive heard some good things about the Hinckley Bonneville's reliability and it shall soon be put to the test. Triumph's worked overtime to retain the classic look including redesigning the throttle body to look like a carburettor! Much to the purists' dislike I do like EFIsand tubeless tires. The fact that itdoesn't look like a spaceship is an added bonus.
I'd not heard of Lucas being referred to as the Prince of darkness, just searched and there are web pages dedicated to Lucas humour!

When I was young in the 60s & early 70s, I well recall Lucas being referred to as the "Prince of Darkness," and it didn't matter whether motorcycles or cars were the subject of scorn! Bikes being left without lights in the middle of the night was what I recall most of all.SS wrote:I'd not heard of Lucas being referred to as the Prince of darkness, just searched and there are web pages dedicated to Lucas humour!
