Re: OUR PAKISTANI COUNTER PART
I'm in shock over the CZ 83 and the Walther still ! I sold one my Walther's for 35 K and a friend sold his mint condition CZ83 for 30 k ! That's about USD 400 and USD 350 each !!
Lolz perhaps we should stand on both sides of the border and I could throw you guys some goodies over the fence
I can't comprehend someone would spend 30,000 USD on a CZ83 ! I have my eye on a HK P30 for the past six months but am hesitant to spend USD 5500 on it ! I shudder to think what it would go for over there.
As for ammo, I generally go to the market once every two months or so I buy in semi bulk. There are some restriction but if the dealers know you it's not a biggie. Took some pictures for you guys.
The blue boxes are Federal .22 LR in boxes of 500 each and the Green rubber bags are POF 9mm sealed bags of 500 each.
This is a case of 1000 rounds of Armscor .45 ACP ammo. Shoots very well.
If you guys are interested then I can post pictures of my Colt .357 Magnum K.C as well.

Re: OUR PAKISTANI COUNTER PART
Welcome Abbas.Visited pakguns.Loved reading the copy of your founding father's license.
Is there any link to the Arms Act that is being followed in Pakistan at present? Is it the same as the Arms Act of 1889 or have any changes been made?
In India, there is a ban on the import of firearms imposed in 1986.The firearms that are manufactured in the country are single barrel and double barrel shotguns by private manufacturers and a limited no. of firearms by the Indian Ordnance Factory Board that has a monoply on the manufacture of rifled firearms and their ammo. ie the Lee Enfield No 1 Mk 3 in .315( 8x50R Austrian Mannlicher) a copy of the Sauer 200 in 30-06,a copy of the Brno .22 rifle, .32 ACP pistol(an amalgam of the colt hammeless and Browning 1910),.32 S&W long revolver(copy of the Enfield revolver) and .22 revolver(copy of the S&W).All are overpriced by any standard.
As in all monoplies, the IOFB is not very particular about the quality of what they sell in the civilian market. As a result all imported firearms command a heavy premium to the extent that prices are now in the silly category.

"I would like to correct ngrewal; a .32 ppk could fetch anywhere between 8 lacs to 12 lacs (INR) here in Mumbai and an imported .32ACP round is between Rs. 250 to 300.
But we're all millionaires here so this is pocket change for us " This is funny
I stand corrected but as James pointed out guns are more expensive than Gold and a better investment (sic)
Abbas

Re: OUR PAKISTANI COUNTER PART
Salams all, thank you again for the warm wishes.
I had been lazy about photographing my Colt although I've had it for a couple of months now. After reading your posts last night I decided it was high time. I tried posting directly here but pictures display as thumbnails here and I get a size more than 1000 x 1000 not allowed ?? Anyway I've posted them here http://www.pakguns.com/forum/viewtopic. ... 565#p58565
@Winnie We follow the basic arms act of 1965 but modifications are made every two or three years. It can be found here http://punjablaws.gov.pk/laws/190.html
I scanned for allowable bores since most probably that is what you guys would be interested in most but couldn't find it. Anyway, currently we can have:
1). Any semi automatic / bolt action rifle in .22 caliber ( LR's Magnums etc.)
2). Any Shotgun in .12 Gauge except full auto.
3). Any handgun not auto till .46 Cailber.
There is no limit to the number of licenses a person can have, I have 25 + and some of my friends have more than 100. Max I heard is around 1000 and there is also a sitting Minister who has 500 + self admitted. Of course some people also act illegally by stamping the same serial number on different weapons in the same caliber but that's only done on auto weapons since P.B licenses are much more rare. No one would spoil the finish of a handgun for a 10 k license.
On another note, do you guys from IFG get together and meet up frequently ? Pictures please I would love to see our friends from the other side of the border. Here's one of our gtg in Karachi last week. http://www.pakguns.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=2302
best regards,

I look forward to the day when the borders vanish, at least for us gun and shooting sports enthusiasts. Thanks for the wonderful photographs, Abbas.

Re: OUR PAKISTANI COUNTER PART
Abbas,
Thanks for the link.Just had a cursory look.Seems to be by and large the same as the old act of 1878.
The Indian Arms Act of 1959 is also nothing but an amended version of the Indian Arms Act of 1878.Though it was enacted with very positive intentions, some how the authorities seem to have lost their way in enforcing it.
PS- I just noticed that I have mentioned the old act being of 1889 in my previous post.My bad

The trouble with jingoists is they believe their own B.S!
By an large our indian members have helped manage to weed out such individuals. An if not they keep their opinions to themselves.
