Don't worry, Ashar. Hi-tech electronics and me just don't get along. Even the best and easiest of Steve Jobs' creations have me going completely blank. Those who know me will attest to my sheer 'brilliance' when it comes to computers and electronics.

Could you start another thread on why one shouldn't go for an iphone? Also, what's so great about the Nokia 6600? I know it's reasonably tough because it has fallen into water a few times, a WC full of piss and on hard ground atleast half-a-dozen times.

My wife uses one of the latest ipods (don't ask me the model) and it's quite a handy little thing (e-mail, internet, maps, photo album, etc.), so long as she shows me how.

6600 is a great phone marked for its sturdy performance.

Yuck..

That's why you aren't supposed to be answering calls while peeing..

I have been lugging around my 6600 since 2004, I believe Mundaire carries it too(unless he has changed it recently). It's a heck of a sturdy phone alright, besides the usual hard ground body slams, I also drove over it once, luckily the phone was on soft ground and got embedded in the muck. The look on the service-center folks faces said it all, when I turned it in to get the mud cleaned. and the front panel changed

The phone was in my kurta's side pocket and apparently slid out when I was boarding my car. When I backed up I drove over it  . Then as I was waiting for my friends, I instinctively started to look for my phone and couldn't find it. After about twenty minutes of frantic searching it was recovered.

Some people have had other experiences... they have made a call with it ;)
Just kidding.. its a fantastic phone and the start of a new era in mobile communications, with probably the first phone in Indian soil (pun intended) to have a whole new range of new features. I still know some people who want to use it for its sturdiness in software and hardware, apart from several features like recording calls, etc. One can load a variety of softwares for so many more enhancements.
I dont have one to sell now, or I am sure I could have with the above advert :)

I am an apple user since 2000 but the iphone has not impressed me.In fact it was the worst phone i ever used.Thats why i somehow managed to get my kid brother to exchange his Nokia E90 with the iphone.

He started swearing at me just after 2 days and I had to return the phone.I got rid of it and bought a new E90.

I found an article which gives 28 reasons why the iphone sucks.I hope you enjoy it.

Rusty, if you ever have to buy a fancy phone, get yourself the new Nokia E71. It's as good as it gets.

Not too sure it would be identified here as one.I have gone through a few security checks with it.I have been carrying that for almost 10 years.Even used it to raise the jack(key was missing) to change a tyre on a dark country road at 4 am. After the floods here could be described as a rescue tool to smash the car windows in case the windows get jammed.Indeed drivers here have been advised to keep such a thing handy after a few people died in Mumbai in the floods.
I use it as a "priest" too when I go fishing(thought most often it is C&R) .

Well Perazzi the Fenix is a very recent addition but the rest has been carried for years :P
