Every few months a new member joins in and the same things are repeated again and again.I have been on this forum for less than a year and have seen this many a times before.littlebear wrote:What? no replies yet. guys i am seeking answers here. do not tell me that you have none. or is it that newcomers are not welcome here
little bear ..... You will get most of the answers when you go through the posts in the hunting section in detail.(If you are really interested).
To hunt or not to hunt is a matter of choice.
Two of your questions which have probably not been answered earlier are:
1.Canned hunts.........You may find it interesting to know that By Law all Game Reserves in South Africa have to be fenced. This not just prevents the bigger animals to stray out of their natural habitat and be a danger to the people living around the Game Reserve.......It is also an effective way to prevent poachers from entering the area. Imagine what harm a lion or an elephant could do if he strayed out of the reserve and entered an adjoining village / town. Interestingly many of the fenced game reserves in Africa are Bigger in area than an average National Park in India . The animals in hunting game reserves are much smarter than what you have assumed. Unlike animals in a non-hunting game reserves which can really get close to you.
I have talked about trophy hunting on another post very recently and would not like to repeat myself again here. As far as Trophy Hunting goes. For a true sportsman it is the persuit of the trophy which is more important than the act of killing "Kill Kill Kill".
No hunter on this forum has advocated "wanton killing" of animals.
You have conveniently skipped out loss of habitat and poaching (which is a major cause for the depleting wildlife) and put the blame entirely on the hunter.
2. Ancient Roman times and the murderous sport held in the Arenas.
I have talked about "ethics" in some post (as i understand them).
For a true sportsman / trophy hunter there is another factor which is a must. The quarry must have a Fair Chance of escape.
Thus Bull fighting (or any other murderous sport in the Arena) which involves skill , guts and fast reflexes , and where the flesh of the slain bull / animal is consumed does not qualify as a true sport for such a shikaari , simply because the animal looses his life ....irrespective of whether he won or lost the BATTLE against the Matador.
