Safe place to deposit firearm

Posts that don't fit into any other category. If it's anything to do with guns, it probably doesn't belong here!

so.. do you know if it is legal or not???
Arms License is issued for what purpose? Self Protection. What does it mean? Means implementation of Sections 96 to 106 of IPC whenever at random situation may arise. What are these sections for? For protection of Fundamental Right to Life as guaranteed by the Constitution of India.
Now please read section 40 of Arms Act 1959:
"40. Protection of action taken in good faith.- No suit, prosecution or other legal proceeding shall lie against any person for any thing which is in good faith done or intended to be done under this Act."
The notification implies that government has no good faith in all it's citizens who have been issued Arms Licenses by following the due process as per Arms Act itself. What is the material the government has to loose good faith in EACH and EVERY citizen? Nothing. What is the maximum possible liability each and every citizen has in this situation. Establishment of good faith. But when government itself does not have any material against each and every citizen to loose good faith, what is each and every citizen liable for? Nothing.

If the government wants to take away your arms issued as per due process of law, even when it does not have any material to make out any case against you what is the government violating? Your fundamental right to life. It is leaving you defenseless against any random violent crime. In addition to violating fundamental right to life, government is also infringing on your fundamental right to freedom of movement, since you will not be able to move/travel to places where you think you should be traveling only in armed condition to protect yourself.
There are lots of safe and safer options it is upto each one to decide how they wish to proceed, your safe method of not keeping arms is your choice.
I fully and completely agree. We are a free and democratic country, each and every citizen is free to decide how much freedom and democracy he deserves for himself and for his fellow countrymen.
I am sure now some one is going to deliver a homely on how we should approach the Supreme Court and seek directions on this issue.A humble request to any such member, unless you can put money where your mouth is,please don't.For such a matter to pursued in the Supreme Court would require a couple of lakhs,at the least. Are you willing to contribute.

Lets start at Rs.25,000/- for each person with a minimum of 20 contributors.Any takers
I fully and completely agree. Please count me for my participation in any collective result oriented legal/legislative action and proportionate contribution for associated costs, therefore at least 19 contributors left.
