A picture is worth a thousand words. What a sight indeed! In one glance, I can see the joys that exist in the simplicity of life adopted by these nagas. A beautiful , green mountainous countryside, clean fresh air, birds on the wing. Sure there is no T.V., Super Market and the accesories of modern life are missing, but there comes a time in all our lives, when we could happily trade all of that for the simple joy of living of the land AND AND AND OWN, CARRY AND WEILD A GUN like it was an extension of one's ownself.

Jeff Cooper advocated four basic rules of gun safety:
1) All guns are always loaded. Even if they are not, treat them as if they are.
2) Never let the muzzle cover anything you are not willing to destroy.
3) Keep your finger off the trigger till your sights are on the target.
4) Identify your target, and what is behind it.

Hi Nagarifle,
You mean any one in Nagaland can own a FireArm legally without any Licence or Paperwork. Well what about purchasing a FireArm, you can purchase only IOF Products or you can import a brand new also.

not quite free as that lets say we all need to have licenses to own as per the Arms act.jk wrote:Hi Nagarifle,

as for buying firearms you would need to comply with the arms act. if you have license you can buy what ever it allows you to buy and from any licensed dealer.
the statement is to show the freedom to enjoy legally owned firearms. and not free arms for all.

Re: Freedom at last a sigth for sore eyes
Before hopes get high and wrong impressions are formed... the precious freedom applies to primarily to Konyak villages of Mon district which borders Myanmar, where gun-making is a centuries old traditional practice. It also applies only to muzzle loaders. They are allowed to do so to this day as long as its within the district/village domain etc. The government also occasionally procures specially disabled (plugged barrels) specimens for presentation to state dignitaries along with a "license to display". Oddly not many people, including me, are aware of rules and regulations (if any) that govern this special allowance...perhaps its something like the Coorg experiment?jk wrote:Hi Nagarifle,
