Hi Saahil,

Due to import restriction on Pakistan a lot of local gun makers have improvised and have started making copies of Guns which are sometimes as good as the originals while costing a fraction of the price. The 92 pictures you are referring to was for 25 K or about 300 USD, while a original 92 costs around 3000 USD. I have three versions of the 92/99, one by Beretta, one by Taurus and one locally made and the difference in performance/finish is minimal. All have fired over 2500 rounds each without any issues and all are accurate.

You should see some of the Glocks these guys are making, even I was astounded. You can order in custom colors as well ! I saw a 19 in hot pink made for a lady ! Most enthusiasts get their locally made guns customized by the maker. Here's a sample a friend of mine at PakGuns had made for himself.

Abbas,

Are the synthetic frames ( for pistols ) being fabricated in Pakistan ? The manner of fabrication and the materials have never been divulged by the Glock people , how do you rate the strength of these synthetic frames?

Thanks for the warm welcome, that quite unfortunate, custom guns are a gun enthusiasts "happy place"

Next time when I or one of my friends go there I will ask him to take pictures of the atmosphere for you guys. Daara is like no place else on Earth for the Arms fanatic. The variety is mind boggling, the weapons start from the late 1850's the most modern SMG/LMG's. You give them any gun and they will give you a replica in a week's time so fantastic you will be in two minds which piece is the original. They are also excellent engravers and the costs are quite decent as well. A Beretta / TT can be fully engraved for 10 K Pakistani.

As for the Glock polymer frames, they are indeed being made in Pakistan. The strength / durability is about 70 % of a Glock, better than the Turkish Ghost variant though. The manufacturer claims to have done a formidable stress test on it and I believe him.

ISO 9000 compliance doesnt mean that product is good its just a certification that proper paper work, manufacturing methods and process controls are in place including change management.See thats the reason they never change designs because they are still taking care of the paper work , internal sign offs and the process control is so tight that there is effectively no process change..I mean do these IOF guys ever go in the field and check there stuff or place it next to their competition? Reminds of Ambassador Mark I, IV car models they were all the same except head lights were being changed. Sorry got my goat again :deadhorse:

But why does IOFB manufecture .32.. The calibre was invented waay back in 1899!!

IOFB makes 9mm HP35 clone and .32 revolver and pistol and .22 revolver, former is meant for only defense and police, latter are considered as civilian or Non Prohibited Bores. So anything above or .38 is PB for civies except for .38 ACP but .357 is NPB
