Back to the Basics:Catapult

Post by raj » Wed Mar 11, 2009 10:50 am

Got my rifle deposited due to lok-sabha elections,so i was getting bored without my rifle being with me.
I got a Catapult from G-Smith Co.its a beauty, shoots perfectly with amazing power.8-10years ago,my dad used to make catapult for me with 'Y" shaped tree branches.this piece is a bit different from the conventional home made catapult.
here are the pics:

I canvouch for the power ofthisGsmith slingshot. I bought three of them last week as gifts and all recipients have reported back favourably with tales of broken fence-slats.

I saw a video recently regarding the gaza war. Posting the link to the video.I am not making any kind of political or religious statement but this video should be used just as a reference for the catapults and slings that the Palestinian boys and men use.

Deleted the video thinking that the mods might have a problem. If the mods allow, I can send the link to members who specifically want the watch the video. They can PM me if the mods allow it.Again, it has graphic contents.

Again a reminder that I am not trying to start a political or religious topic here, but just a reference to the catapult being used.

Well, I've been using this one over a couple of decades now !

Don't know how it will compare to the GSmith...

Very nice... good that you thought of the alternative.
BTW, how much did you pay for it? I am sure fellow IFG-ians will be interested in the price.

I got one sometime back from US... will post some pics shortly :)

That looks like a sweet catapult. If you have waaaay too much time still without your rifle, and have a spare bit of lumber lying around- try and make one of these bad boys.

Made a scale version in college that shot 2 lb weights about 25 feet. It was tiny- but since we used a nylon rope for the coiled spring it was amusingly powerful.
