When it’s new ammo vs old ammo, always go for new ammo.

I don't know about accuracy, but reliability is an issue with old KF ammo. I have some 12g ammo which originally was purchased by my grandfather. I had a very unpleasant experience with them as a couple of times when I pulled trigger, they didn't go bang. Then I had to wait in same stance for 1 or 2 mins, then place the gun in safe direction for some more time, finally ejected them with fear of out of battery discharge in my head. Not a good experience, not going to take another chance.

I had both of them and shoot today. old one is copper case and new other one is brass case...I found the same 2inch group at 42 yards.no one is misfire from old to.i pluck bullet both of them to see gun powder are which type and I see the new comes with small green rounded powder and burn very fast when I exposed in open ...then other side the old brass ammo comes with type of kf special 12 bore cartridge gunpowder looks like flakes and burn it they slow expose.only difference is price for new rs1200 per 50 box and rs 900 per 50 box

I will not be able to comment on the accuracy.
Did not find any relevant difference in the field.
Tried browsing through the IOF website but could not find the details.
I remember 4-5 years back,
They use to mention the Shelf Life of 12 Bore and .32ACP as 5 years.
This was clearly mentioned on the website and Cartridge Box,as well.
For Rifle cartridge it was 10 years. Am not sure, though.
Storage is a very important factor and definitely the quality of Powder used.
In the case of 12 Bore, I personally found the Plastic ones better than the Paper.
The above is only in relation to IOF Cartridges and not imported.
Have never had a problem with imported Cartridges, some which were 30+ years old.
Only one instance when imported 12 Gauge Rifle Slugs did not discharge.
They were at least 40 years old (made in Belgium, if I remember correctly).
Would personally recommend to use only fresh Cartridge.
For personal carry/defence use only Imported Cartridge’s.
Though it is easier said than done, taking into consideration the limitations in India.

Regards,
Jr.
