Apparitions, ghosts and spirits

Saw one apparent apparition in these videos.

What are apparitions/ ghosts/ spirits? Any scientific explanation?

One answer could be "under the influence of alohol, LSD, cocaine, and so on".

Another could be that the person is so psychologically attuned to ghosts and so on that his brain actually creates a "dream with eyes open". Something like feeling a vibration even when your phone is not ringing.

Not having seen one, I am obviously referring to vague remeberings of even vaguer readings at some point.

My father-in-law tells of a fishing pond near his place (he lived in Arunachal Pradesh), where anyone catching fish in the dark would feel highly uneasy till he dropped the fish (either in the pond if the fish were still alive, or left the catch on the banks). After doing it, the night-time fisherman could go home in peace. It seems some chap died because he couldn't get fish (contender for Darwin Awards, I am sure), and hence he wouldn't let anyone fish at night.

Seems to be an example of psychological attunement. Since everybody says "such-and-such happens", your mind dwells on that for such a long time and so intently,that it actually seems to happen. Most of us get unexplained "tickles down the back" or "shivers up the spine" at all odd times, don't we?

It seems my Dad-in-Law, being a government employee permitted to carry a service firearm, went down with a few more armed colleagues, and tried to fish with the area lighted up with jeep headlights and those old Eveready 4-D cell torches. They still got nervous and left fish-less!! And my Dad-in-Law is one of the most steel-nerved guys I know!!

My 2 cents worth of thought -

Such American apparitions remind me of a scene from the movie "Rising Sun" where the Jap corp digitally 'erases' presence of the killer. Same technology can be used to boost sales (reservations) of hotels during economic depression and shutdown. What better opportunity than the famous holiday of ghouls (Halloween) to kick start reservations for Thanksgiving through X-Mas and New Year ?

Having voiced my thoughts, remember reading something on the topic that had to do with beyond visual spectrum and also on entities defined by energy and not by matter. Simply put, the Qn the 'scientist' raised was this - "Why do we assume that life form can exist only in matter format ? Why could a living/ intelligent life form not exist as Energy ?" Could the ghosts etc. be manifestation of such Energy format "beings" ? Could they traverse through parallel universes unbridled by the restrictions that black holes and worm holes place on matter? Could some "matter" beings like dogs or differently attuned humans actually have cognitive capability of detecting such entities ? After all, even an intelligent life form like human is restricted by 20Hz-20kHz in audible range and violet through red wavelength spectrum in the optical spread.
Gosh ! I have started sounding like Agent Mulder.

Now for the most pointed Qn - "Have I come across anyone trustworthy who has had some contact with the "other" side ?" Yes.

Trust me when I say, I would if I could. In fact if I did and he did come, all of the CMG will be breaking Milkha Singh's records ! The said trustworthy happens to be my *late* father. He having traveled all-India and all-Maharashtra during his official tenure had a stock of similar stories heard from his colleagues. But one that hung on to me was his own experience. This was a story which after his narration created a sort of fear factor in our family; so he back-tracked saying he had made it up. But when he returned from Assam and I was set to leave India in 1992, for some reason I dredged the story up again and asked him. He narrated it very clearly and precisely as if it had etched in his memory and 'confessed' that he had made up the "story" part of the story seeing the unnecessary fear it had caused back then. But he confided to me (now that I was all grown-up and mature) that every word of that experience was true. This had happened in 1975. He had another experience in interior of MH, but that wasn't as long or clear as this one; he banished that one off as tricks of a tired & sleepy mind.

The other person though pretty much in this plane of existence even today, isn't too comfortable speaking widely, openly and publicly about his experiences, but I trust him as much as I would trust myself.
