LED Upgrade for Maglite 3 Cell

Post by snIPer » Thu Aug 09, 2012 5:13 pm

For those of you who have an older 3 cell Maglite with a Krypton bulb - this replacement is an absolute must.

I recently received this and installed it in my Maglite - the difference was amazing, i will highly recommend this product for anyone looking for an upgrade.
The best part is it runs fine on normal Cells and not Duracell hungry like before.

Yes, I had installed one on my 3 D Maglite earlier and it is much better than the regular bulbs. Mine is not a Terralux but works equally well.

Also look up Malkoff dropins for Mags

Thanks, Sniper!! I'll do this for both my 2-cell Maglite as well as the Mini.

Anyone in Mumbai interested in sharing shipping costs?
Cheers!

I have the maglite 3W LED bulb in my 2 3-cell maglites and the difference is incredible. I can easily see things 150-170 yards away, and possibly longer than that. My flashlights get used almost nightly, and even so a set of batteries last over a year. I have taken to replacing them every year at the same time as they will still work but twice I have found them leaking, so if I replace them each year I do not have that concern.

Anyway, I am mostly convinced that I do not ever need a non LED flashlight ever again.

Most of us are convinced about the LEDs. Except for some special applications there is hardly any reason why one should not opt for the LEDs. The new ones have monster outputs and lumen ratings :)
