When one reads the article ''Animal cruelty- Air Guns'' by Mrs Maneka Gandhi, Its very obvious that while we dont agree with her concept of putting a stop on the sell of air guns or putting them under licence. But we have to agree that most of her concerns are genuine and should concern us also. Some of the summerised points from her article..
>''(Some)Children(she only said children) are maiming birds'' knowingly.
>"Children(again children, not adults)shooting animals like cows, donkeys, dogs'' as these animals are easy to target.
>''Shooting at poorer children'' (Bade baap ke bigde aulaad).
Personally i think these things are not good. Again Mrs Gandhi points out that parents giving air guns to their kids without supervising them.
Parents should know, and IFG always emphasise that air guns are not toy (hell..and are not leathal either)and shouldn't be handled as one. You should never let your kids shoot animals or other children(thats crazy)..
Now lets see what remedy Mrs Gandhi suggests.
"stop selling air guns"- which is really irrelavent. I mean nobody sells airguns to Kids.
OR
"put air guns under licence"- Again ridiculous. It will kill the sport and deprive us from a great thing like shooting.
I share Mrs Gandhi's concerns about children(and their ignorant parents) not using air guns properly. But I am against her ways of a solution, which are ofcouse very weird....
