HAPPY BISWAKARMA PUJA - Worship of guns.

Posts that don't fit into any other category. If it's anything to do with guns, it probably doesn't belong here!

So a weapon takes on the religion of the original owner? How can a weapon be "Islamic' or "Hindu"?

Katana, I'm not making fun of your beliefs (or of anyone's beliefs here), I would really like to know.

It is not that the weapon that would be Islamic or Hindu, but the idea in the earlier days was that you respected the 'other' camp. Maybe some day your standards and insignia could fall into the opposite numbers' camp.

Anyway, this is the norm that is still followed in most of the former princely states. I don't suppose the police or armed forces in India follow these principles, although colours are presented by the President to Regiments or units, but that is a western concept.

Jim,

What I said is what the 'procedure' (as would be typical of a govt. fellow  ) or 'vidhi' for Dasham or Vijaydashmi Pujan is.

As concerns 'gupt' weapons, I have none! Therefore I don't get to do the said puja! Meanwhile, I do get to wear the 'janev' or the sacred thread, so you could call me half a pujari ROTFL
