Flashlights - how to check lumens?

Posts that don't fit into any other category. If it's anything to do with guns, it probably doesn't belong here!

Hi essdee, now where are the pictures and the beamshots? let us have it candlepowerforums or flashlightreviews style :D

The solution is to switch it off in the max mode. Since you have pointed out that it has a memory the next time you switch it on it will be in the mode used the last time i.e. the max power. No need to cycle through all the modes.

Now the question is: Which flashlight are you planning to buy next? :D

Thanks, Rajat.... Since I am not (yet  ) a flashlight buff, have not really gone deep into the flash sites beyond a few cursory looks (and since IFG has such a wealth of knowledge...... I got better info on cameras, flashlights, knives, et al on a GUN RELATED website, than in specialised sites for the same!! to IFG).

Will check out the reviews in detail and give something on those lines. Have not yet found a good place for beamshots, as I said earlier, cityscapes have too much ambient light!!! Let me plan a trip to some wilderness (for a Mumbaikar, Matheran is as wild as it gets  ).

Will surely update something on the lights.....

And as for the next one, my better half threatens to force me to set up a torch and knife shop to get rid of my pitiful collection..... so the next one will have to wait for sometime (a month???)

Cheers!
