Hunting for conservation or Conservation for HUNTING ???

Posts that don't fit into any other category. If it's anything to do with guns, it probably doesn't belong here!

Every few months a new member joins in and the same things are repeated again and again.I have been on this forum for less than a year and have seen this many a times before.
little bear ..... You will get most of the answers when you go through the posts in the hunting section in detail.(If you are really interested).
To hunt or not to hunt is a matter of choice.
Two of your questions which have probably not been answered earlier are:
1.Canned hunts.........You may find it interesting to know that By Law all Game Reserves in South Africa have to be fenced. This not just prevents the bigger animals to stray out of their natural habitat and be a danger to the people living around the Game Reserve.......It is also an effective way to prevent poachers from entering the area. Imagine what harm a lion or an elephant could do if he strayed out of the reserve and entered an adjoining village / town. Interestingly many of the fenced game reserves in Africa are Bigger in area than an average National Park in India . The animals in hunting game reserves are much smarter than what you have assumed. Unlike animals in a non-hunting game reserves which can really get close to you.
I have talked about trophy hunting on another post very recently and would not like to repeat myself again here. As far as Trophy Hunting goes. For a true sportsman it is the persuit of the trophy which is more important than the act of killing "Kill Kill Kill".
No hunter on this forum has advocated "wanton killing" of animals.
You have conveniently skipped out loss of habitat and poaching (which is a major cause for the depleting wildlife) and put the blame entirely on the hunter.

2. Ancient Roman times and the murderous sport held in the Arenas.
I have talked about "ethics" in some post (as i understand them).
For a true sportsman / trophy hunter there is another factor which is a must. The quarry must have a Fair Chance of escape.
Thus Bull fighting (or any other murderous sport in the Arena) which involves skill , guts and fast reflexes , and where the flesh of the slain bull / animal is consumed does not qualify as a true sport for such a shikaari , simply because the animal looses his life ....irrespective of whether he won or lost the BATTLE against the Matador.

Pardon me I am a new comer... I would like to learn a few things from you guys and can just put up a few questions. Please pardon my ignorance and can you try to answer these for me?
What? no replies yet. guys i am seeking answers here. do not tell me that you have none. or is it that newcomers are not welcome here
Well, pardon me too, littlebear, but your disconnected ranting and your strident demands for answers makes your claims of being ignorant and supposedly "just asking a few questions" sound disingenuous.

Why was there no wild life explosion or over population in the thousands of years preceding the last 100 years?
Your question implies the knowledge that there have been no cases of wildlife explosion or over population in the thousands of years preceding the last 100 years. Do you have data to support such an assumption? Pardon me, I am not the intellectual, knowledgeable type either, but I'd be interested in having you educate me on this matter.
Can you even think of or give me a figure that the developed world is spending on giving aid to backward economies, wars etc.
Were you interested in having a discussion about global politics concerning rich nations versus poor nations, or what? This is a hunting thread -- what other issues are you intending to raise?
You kill for your pleasure and pay for it in a way you would for a roller coaster ride and say that’s its for conservation. How charitable. Comments?
Sure, I have a comment for you: You make the blanket accusation that everyone here is killing for pleasure alone. Surely you must understand that this is an insulting accusation, since as you define yourself as a newcomer, you are admitting that you really don't know us. After making such insulting accusations and then finding nobody cares to discuss your rantings, you accuse us by asking:
... is it that newcomers are not welcome here
Do you expect that you can come on this board and throw indiscriminate insults about and then have all of us dance to your tune?
i am seeking answers here
You are hardly seeking answers here. You are attempting to demand answers as a person in authority demands answers from an accused, with the assumption of a superior set of beliefs -- beliefs that I hold in question given the poorly reasoned rants based upon faulty logic contained in your first posting to this thread.

My suggestion to you, sir, is that if you wish to have an enjoyable discussion with members here at IFG, learn some manners and devote yourself to an exchange of listening, as well as talking. Save your superior and wounded attitude for somewhere else.
