very good picture, i'm strongly in favour of women being able to shoot to defend themselves, their families and homes. one of the first gifts i bought for my wife soon after we married and moved to vermont was a .22 caliber semi-auto pistol, then a .380 semi-auto and later an army .30 caliber m-1 carbine. she has never had to use them self defense, but enjoys shooting with me at the range.

by the way, earlier this evening i was watching a t.v. show about u.s. marine corps recruit training at parris island, where i myself went through basic training back in 1955. one of the recruits was a very pretty young lady, private singh, indian by her name and face, who was filmed shooting the service m-16 rifle and doing very well with it. women do not serve in line rifle companies in the marines but they do get the same field and rifle training as the men now to protect themselves, and they get the same pay and promotion as the men. "semper fidelis" private singh.

gunner

Private Singh is of Indian descent from West Indies / Caribbean / Guyana amazing nevertheless for any one to serve with marines. Another very prominent India Economist Dr Bhagwati Columbia University Daughter Anuradha Kristina, currently at Kennedy School at Harvard was a former Captain in the US Marine Corps.

thank you ngrewal, for the information. the marines are a close knit organization, "once a marine, always a marine" we say, and the young marines of today are my brothers, and sisters in the corps. i wish both captain bhagwati and private singh long life and success, and i am pleased and proud that they chose to serve in my corps. again, "semper fidelis'

I suspect that Ma in the pic above is equally deadly in close quarters with a rolling pin!
