WTP you are misinterpreting. It is not a question of win or defeat. This is an open forum for healthy discussion and not something to score points. If you disagree on any opinion, you have full right to disagree, but please do let know, why you disagree.

Yup, but let Drew have a word in between?
Drew, I'd put it like this:
Ask your employers what exactly their stand is on armed security? Is it required of you? if so, will they help you with the formalities?
Usually, armed security personnel/CPO in the private sector are individual Arms licence holders, who have a job as an 'ARMED SECURITY PERSON' with a private security company . Banks are the only companies who are given an arms licence -usually for a short barrel, single or double 12 bore shotty, to be carried by the guard.
Contact a member here, Godrej- who has started a CPO school in Bangalore, he may be able to answer some of your
' non lethal ' questions.IIRC he has some background of CPO in UK/Europe
If you are contemplating handguns for personal defense, outside of your job ambit, may not be possible, for most if not all of the reasons outlined.
Stay safe
