:( Why blame God for what are certainly man made problems? The Government should be held liable for every life lost due to lack of clean food and water. We keep hearing in the news of food grains getting spoilt in godowns, and black marketing even in times of floods or other natural disasters. More than 60 years after independence it is shameful we are struggling with this sort of stuff.

Typically this board doesnt discuss matters other than the guns ..agree with Anand issue is management of resources especially when significant amount of indian grains are lost to pests and mismanagement of grains - check the FCI godowns where fraud is committed or why no use modern storage facilities i.e. Silos etc rather than tarps and jute bags (sic) . This is ridiculous and sadly I am watching Mother India movie as I type same tragic story replays in India after 40 odd years nothing changed for bottom percentile and neither can India boast we are 99% there its those at fringes who need the help most...Weather is going to be unpredictable and world needs more grain. Unless Indians manage their resources with a decent strategic plan they are asking for trouble and should learn from havoc created in Pakistan due to lack of proper dykes and canals long term ramifications especially with Russia stopping the export of grains and all this leads to economic issues and social unrest..
