It is circulating on the internet previously as shot with a .45.

Dont know if its either. Definitely not a shotgun wound.

Could be a shotgun wound through accidental discharge because pellets spread at a distance.

This also means one should not rest a loaded Gun on ones foot.

The diameter is much less than .729 inches. that would be the minimum size for the hole in the shoe, een if its a contact wound.
And as i said this was circulating as a handgun injury on the internet for a longtime. Someone decided to put a pic of a sporting stand and decided to call it a shotgun injury. The pics arent very clear (of the shoe). Else one could predict more accurately the distace and the calibre of the handgun.
We dont know all the facts of the story. Its an internet forward and need to know the full facts.
You are right only a fool would rest the barrels of a loaded shotgun or any other gun on his shoe/foot or an other body part. The only safe direction is the sky or the target.
