Was just thinking today about how much I plan to shoot, versus how much ammunition I currently have.
I have to sadly report, I now have enough ammunition (including what will be delivered over the next ten days) and components to shoot out every single barrel I have. This is true from .22 LR and up to .45/70 which is the largest caliber I own. And includes the 12 GA which tehnically is larger than the .45/70...
I therefore am not going to buy ammo for a very very long time. Somehow that makes me sad.

I think that the answer to your problem is that you need to by a gun of another caliber. Or maybe two.

another option - buy Scatt and safe same amount on amo

Scatt is electronic training system, used by many top shooters like Abhinav Bindra, Ganan Narang, most of russian shooters and German shooters too.
it can be used with pistol/revolver also, but I'm not sure if exactly it can be used in your kind of training. Scat can be used same time with making actual shot and without making it too.
So it save some good amount of amo $s.

Looks interesting, though I dont think it applies to the type of shooting I do.
But will look into it.

How does one wear out a shotgun by shooting a lot?
or even a .22.

20000 is not much subal. Forget russians. Some of our Indians shoot that much.
